Thank you for coming to our Flower Show. The children really enjoyed teaching you how to plant a seed. Together we all made a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Can I finish by saying a huge THANK YOU all for a fantastic year .... I have so enjoyed working with 2C and I wish all of the children the very best for next year.
Remember children... try your best and your best is good enough!!!!
We have had a creative week in Year 2.
As part of Refugee Week, we have been ready the story 'The Journey'. It made us think carefully about the journey Regugees may take.
In Maths, we created a pictograph to show how people may travel. In Art, we painted a picture in 3 parts to represent the journey of a Refugee.
This week we became game makers and made our own Maths board game. We had to think carefully about the Learning Objectives, the rules of the game and the organisation of the game. Some of the games needed us to add, subtract, multiply, divide and some needed us to use fractions.
A huge well done to all of the children in 2C. I am very proud of you all for your hard work this half term. You have shown that you are motivated, ready to learn, resilient and reflective!
I have 3 tasks for you all over the half term....
1. Stay safe
2. Have fun
3. Read lots of your favourite books.
There is no end to our talents this week! Not only have we been working hard in Maths, English, History and Science we are now real life artists! To link with our science topic of plants , we decided to recreate 2 very famous paintings... Poppy Field and Sunflowers by Van Gogh. We hope you like them!
This week we have completed a very exciting Maths Challenge. We had to solve the mystery of the missing daffodils. We had to solve 5 clues to unlock the answer. We used our knowledge of addition, multiplication, multiples, money, and data analysis to get the answer. We had so much fun .... Ask your child to tell you all about what they learnt
Wow - What a wonderful morning we have had! As part of our topic about The Great Fire of London, today we visited Ipswich Fire Station. We walked around the whole of the station and saw where the Firefighters ate, slept, worked and got dressed quickly in an emergency. We looked at the different types of fire trucks for each different emergency.
We listened to a firefighter giving us a safety talk about how to stay safe if there is a fire. Miss Crabtree even had to dress up in the Firefighters uniform.
Remember if there is a fire:
1. GET OUT
2. STAY OUT
3. CALL 999
We even got to use the fire hoses! They were really heavy and so much water spurted out!!
We hope you enjoy looking at our photos!
I would just like to say how PROUD I am of ALL of the children in 2C. They have all worked so hard and are continuing to grow every day. I LOVE having all of them in my class and we really do always try our best!
As part of our topic outcome in DT and History Lessons, we made wheeled vehicles and turned them in to Fire Engines. The children persevered even though at times it was tricky to get everything right! Thank you to the parents who came in to support your child's learning during this Art day.
We also made pizzas as part of our Science lessons learning about Eating and Drinking well. On our pizza, we put tomato paste, sweetcorn, peppers and cheese. These foods help our bodies and bones to grow strong and help our tummies to digest. They were very delicious!!
Welcome to 2C! On this page, you can see all of the hard work we do whilst at school. We hope you feel proud of our efforts because we feel proud of ourselves!
