Resilience is one of the traits we try to develop amongst the children as it is such an important attribute for being a successful learner. We all need to learn how to bounce back from the 'knocks' we experience throughout life so developing resilience is really important.
On Wednesday, the whole school took part in special activity day based around the school's learning words. We tackled resilience by thinking of a good slogan that represented the word, took pictures that showed a visual image of our slogan and then wrote stories that involved children demonstrating this trait.
Our slogan involved the idea of 'bouncing back' so our image involved the children supporting one child on a spacehopper (or whatever they are called these days}. The class was split into 4 groups so that everyone appeared in one of the photos. It is now up to Mr. Stock to decide which image he will use. I have attached them all for you to view because they really are lovely with big smiles all round even though the temperature was dropping a few degrees by the minute!.
I will be writing to you next week about times tables as many of the children are struggling with them and it would be great if we could be involved in a big push to improve these - more details in the next blog.
