At Rushmere Hall we are trying hard to improve the provision for our deaf and hearing impaired children. Part of that is about educating the children across the rest of the school about how to communicate effectively with children who are deaf or hearing impaired.
Mr Platt came into assembly today to teach KS2 how to communicate well with deaf and hearing impaired children. The children learnt some basic sign language and how to spell their name using sign language.
The assembly was extremely valuable and the children enjoyed learning the sign language but they were most impressed with Mr Platt whose sense of humour entertained them throughout the entire assembly.
A huge thank you to Mr Platt for a wonderful Deaf Awareness Assembly.
