In a previous newsletter we highlighted the fundraising work carried out by a group of year 6 pupils. The EACH charity came into school to accept a cheque for the money raised and help introduce children to what the charity does to support people in the community and what the money would be used for. Attached to the newsletter is a copy of the latest EACH newsletter which thanks the year 6 children for their contribution. There are also details of a fundraising event they have coming up too.
Over in Year 5, a pupil asked his parents and the school if he could raise money for a cancer charity by shaving off his hair! Matthew Taylor in class 5S had long hair which he had been growing for years. He received sponsorship in order raise money for the charity but more importantly he grew his hair long enough so that when it was cut off, the cancer charity would be able to use the hair to make wigs for children and adults who are currently receiving chemotherapy and have lost their hair.
Both of these fundraising events have been truly inspiring. Rushmere Hall is proud to have such charitable, caring and kind children.
