Welcome to Year 5 & Year 6
Curriculum - What are Year 5 learning?
Private Peaceful and A Monster Calls
This year we have read and studied the above books. As part of our Literacy planning, we would like to show the children the film Private Peaceful which is graded as a 12. This is because the story, which is set in WW1 contains moderate battle scenes. In addition A Monster Calls is graded as a 12A as it is a fantasy drama where a boy encounters a monster in the form of a tree and deals with the topic of bereavement. As we require permission to be allowed to show these films to your children, please could you advise us by the end of this week if you are NOT allowing your child to watch either of these films. If we don't hear from you, we will presume that permission is given. I have attached links to these films below so you can find out more about them should you so wish.

e-Safety Day 19.10.16
Thursday 19th October was ‘e-safety day’ in school. To further develop the children’s knowledge on this topic, we have suggested some websites and games that they can look at in their own time to teach the children about being safe online, which have been detailed in the attached file called 'e-safety'. Parents are also being encouraged to look at the material on the e-safety section of the school website, which has further information.
.14.10.16 - There are still some slots available for Parents' Evening next week, so if you haven't signed up there is still time! If you are unable to make an appointment for next week but would like to speak with your child's class teacher, please contact them via the school logbook and they will arrange an alternative time to see you
