We are all really enjoying being in Year 2 and we have been working very hard!

Sports day is this Thursday! Children can come to school in their PE kits.
Please can all children bring a hat and water bottle to school with them on Thursday please.
Since the children have been back from their half term we have been super busy in our maths and English lessons.
In maths we have been learning to partition a number in different ways and in English we wrote our own story, where a terrible problem occurred.
Today some children from 1A told us about a shape song that they listen to. We listened to it this afternoon and it has quickly became a favourite of ours.
We have been busy practising a new song to share in our assembly this Friday. Below is quick preview of the song.
With the weather getting warmer it is really important that all the children bring in a water bottle filled with water NOT JUICE.
Can they also bring in a hat and sunglasses to wear for when they are outside. Please look at the Rushmere Hall Sun Safe page which is on the school website for more details.
Our sharing assembly is this Friday, please come and watch! We have been busy practising some new songs to share with you.
It will be our class sharing assembly on Friday 18th May. We hope you can come and watch!
Swimming has started and the children are thoroughly enjoying the lessons.
Please can the children have their names in all of their clothing.
Before Easter we had a visit from the Blue Cross. They showed us all the things you need to look after a pet dog or cat. We also learnt that there are lots of pets who do not have homes and how we could help these pets be re-homed.
Thank you to all the parents who came and help us make puppets on our DT afternoon. The children thoroughly enjoyed having your help.
This week the children had their first swimming lesson. I was very proud of how the children behaved in and around the pool. Please can I remind you that children need to have the correct swimming kit or they may be unable to swim.
This week the school had the squash road show in and on Wednesday 1P had their lesson. The children were excited to take part and thoroughly enjoyed learning a new sport.
We had a great day at the zoo, looking at all the different animals. A big thank you to all the parents who came and helped on the trip.
