Thank you to all of the parents who joined us for our Christmas craft morning on Friday. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were very productive with our creations. Watch out next week for a taster of what will be for sale at the Christmas Fayre!
The children are all very excited and proud to share with you that we have been learning to join our handwriting. It is very tricky but we are persevering with some excellent results! Have a look below ...
This week we have been learning all about multiplication. We have use practical objects, drawn pictures, arrays and used repeated addition to help us calculate the answers to multiplication problems. It has been very tricky but we persevered and now we are getting the hang of it!
We even counted our shoes to work out the 2 times table!
We had a wonderful time helping Children in Need. The children thought of their OWN ideas to raise money and I genuinely felt proud of their thoughtful and generous attitudes. We chose different activities and each gave a donation to join in or watch another child. We raised £28 and had great fun too!
In PE this week we did some yoga! The lesson was taught through a story about 'Squish the Fish'. Yoga is good for children in many ways including developing body awareness and building concentration. Here are some photos. We loved it!
Yesterday we went to the Secret Garden for our maths lesson. We had to do some measuring to help our school caretakers. We used cm rulers and metre sticks. We had to do some problem solving when the metre sticks were too short!
As usual we have had a busy and exciting week in 2D. In Science we have been sorting materials and thinking about what objects are made from. For example paper, cardboard, metal or glass? Can you find some objects in your house and decide what they are made of?
New homework policy
We hope you are as excited as we are about our new homework policy? Your children now have the opportunity to investigate creative and exciting projects which allow them (and you as parents!) to follow their own style of learning and interests. Any questions please ask!
We are looking forward to seeing photos of creations of work made at home, sent via the homework email address for 2D.
The maths website is full of opportunities too and will be up and running asap. I will let you know when it is ready!
We are 3D!
