We planted our seeds 1 week ago and look how much they have grown already!
We have planted cress, mustard, radishes, lettuce, chives and lots of different flowers!
We have been learning about parts of a plant in Science.
We created plant pictures out of cupcake cases, straws and wool. We then labelled the parts: flower, stem, leaf, root and seed.
Have a look at our new display outside our classroom!
This week we are reading the book 'The Day the Crayons Quit' in our English lessons.
We are really enjoying reading all the letters the crayons have written to Duncan about how they feel.
Today we had a piece of coloured paper and we wrote words to describe how we feel when we look at that colour. We also wrote different adjectives to describe the colour.
Have a look at our photos below!
This afternoon we had 2 special visitors visiting our class.
Cherry and David came to Rushmere Hall Primary School 60 years ago! They talked to us today about what our school used to be like and how it has changed.
We saw Cherry and David's old school photographs. They were in black and white. We also had a look at some old money. They used money like this to buy their snack from the school tuck shop. Cherry and David talked to us about how they got a bottle of milk to drink when they were at school. If it was a frosty morning, the milk would freeze and they said it was like having a milk lolly pop! They enjoyed this lots!
Cherry and David did Maths, English and learnt how to read using Phonics, just like we do today.
We were able to ask them lots of questions about what life was like 60 years ago at Rushmere Hall. It was very interesting!
Thank you Cherry and David for coming to visit us! We really enjoyed your visit!

This week we are learning about 3D shapes in Maths.
We have been using Mathematical vocabulary like edges, vertices and faces to describe different 3D shapes.
Today we have been looking at the nets of different 3D shapes.
We made cubes and pyramids from their nets!
Have a look at our photos.
We painted our own Pebble Pets. Take a look.
Yesterday we wrote a persuasive piece of writing persuading someone to buy our Pebble Pets because they are very easy to look after.
We had lots of fun using cubes to build our own houses from The Great Fire of London.
We thought very carefully about what the houses would have looked like in 1666. We built the houses very close together because the streets were very narrow in London at the time.
We have been learning this song in class about The Great Fire of London! We are really enjoying our topic this term!
If you would like to sing our song at home, please find the link below!
