I just wanted to say a big thank you to the children and their families for your generous contributions on Friday. As a class, we raised £36.10 for Children in Need.
Thank you :)
Just a reminder that next Tuesday 22nd November, 'Portals from the Past' are visiting the school with an exciting Roman workshop for all Year 3 children.
A letter went out about this before half term but if you need another copy, there is one on the phase page or please come and ask for one.
We are encouraging all children (and teachers!) to dress up as either a Roman or Celt for the day. This will really help the children feel immersed in Roman history for the day and add a lot to the experience. There was some information attached to the letter about how to make a costume - again if you need a copy, please come and ask.
We are all looking forward to this day very much!
Don't forget to have a look at the website 'Interactive Resources' for lots of fun Maths activities and games.
http://www.interactive-resources.co.uk/ (Login and password both on the letter that was sent home).
Try the 'Eggs to Order' activity - there are nine levels to get stuck into! Start on Level 1 and see how far you can get....
Miss Markham, Mr Syed and I will put keep adding resources into the Year 3 folder so please check regularly!
Have fun and please do let me know how you get on!
I was overjoyed this morning when the children came in with their topic homework. Considering the new homework policy only went out on Friday and the children have had just two days, they have already produced some really great work and were super excited to show me and share it with the class.
Leo made a fantastic Roman aqueduct.
Eve made a lovely Roman mosaic.
Bo found out about the differences between Celtic and Roman shields and had a go at designing some.
Jayden had a go at making some Roman bread and even wrote up the recipe - it smelt delicious!
Keep up the great work 3R - your enthusiasm is fantastic!
We took our art lesson outside this morning and explored the work of Andy Goldsworthy to find out what art we could make using only natural materials.
Firstly, we looked at some of Goldsworthy's work - have a look below. Which one do you like best?
Then, we worked in groups to have a go at creating our own natural art work. We had lots of fun and produced some really great work!
