In our cool vibrations lesson, we explored how sound is produced by carrying out a range of experiments: rough seas, flickering flame, guitar hero and dancing rice. We recorded all our observations using the correct scientific vocabulary. According to 4B, they absolutely love science! With the assistance of lit candles, musical instruments, tuning forks, rice and water, the children now understand how sound travels and the effect that making a sound can have.
After discovering how people’s lives changed during WW2, the children were keen to learn about The Blitz this week. We watched a Blitz simulation and were shocked that London was bombed for 76 consecutive days by the Luftwaffe. Fortunately, we have practised our gas mask drill so we reacted quickly to the air raid siren going off in class.
Today the children have been set an Anderson shelter WW2 homework project which is due to be handed in by 31.10.16 (first day back after half term.) I look forward to seeing all their creative ideas.
