Evie has enjoyed the history this week. "I liked learning about shelters."

Grace liked science yesterday because it was fun finding out about sound.
Nuala says, "I have enjoyed History this week, learning about which towns and cities were bombed during WW2."
We have started learning to play hockey in P.E. Megan thought it was fun.
In Art we have been learning about Matisse and his amazing paper men . Jonah thought this was really interesting.
4C have now decided that they are fully settled and have made new friends and found new interests. This is wonderful to hear.
Welcome to the weekly blog for 4C. It has been another busy week with lots going on, especially with it being so hot!
Thank you to those parents who came to the 'Meet the teacher' session on Monday. We look forward to catching up with you again in the near future.
All the children now have their individual reading books and diaries. Could we please ask that you continue to support your child by listening to them read each day. It is a huge benefit to them.
The class have enjoyed making their gas mask boxes and are looking forward to making gas masks next week.
In Literacy the children were asked to write a letter in the character of Jesse Owens. The final pieces of writing are fabulous, particularly the presentation. We will be displaying them in the classroom.
More to report next week.
4C have made a very positive start to the new school year and have adapted well to having two teachers. We have had fun finding out about each other and about the units of work we will be studying this term. The children have enjoyed the introduction to our topic, WW2, with books and medals being brought in to share. They can't wait to get going in depth!
In Maths we have been learning about place value and in Literacy the class are finding out about the athlete Jesse Owens and acquiring new vocabulary along with other skills.
4C joined with the other year 4 classes this week to work together in the outdoor area (Secret garden) exploring the colours of nature. It was amazing to see what they found and the enthusiasm generated.
If you are unable to attend 'Meet the teacher' on Monday 12th September we will ensure that any necessary information is sent home.
We look forward to updating you on a regular basis so please keep checking our blog. You will be able to keep up with what we are doing in class and whatever else is happening.
Enjoy the weekend!
