Thanks to everyone who came to "Meet the Teacher" this week. It was good to get a chance to introduce myself and talk about the things we will be doing this year. Swimming update - We will be going swimming in the Easter Term not after half-term. This should ensure that each class get the opportunity to make more progress.
Thanks for remembering PE kits on Tuesday - and hopefully every Tuesday from now on.
I was really impressed with the children's writing this week - Application to become a spy - formal letter to the head of MI6. The children used all the ideas I shared in the lesson and have already started to develop the structure of their sentences.
We've being working on place value and reading numbers up to 10,000,000. See if your child can read a 7 or 8 digit number!
We even managed to fit in a science experiment to test the absorbency of different grades of paper towel. We took some time out to study seashells up close too and draw them. (see above)
Have a great weekend.
