This week we have been learning about Viking raids.
This is a plaque that was given to the next of kin of Horace Bailey. All families of men killed in WWI were given one. It is made of bronze. These plaques became known as "The Dead Man's Penny" because they look similar to an old penny but bigger. We've been talking about WWI because our class book 'Private Peaceful' is set in WWI.
