Another busy week!

This week, we have been doing lots of planning for our long write task. This involved us carefully looking at the sequence of the story and writing what Rose Blanche (the main character in the story) would have heard/ have seen and what she might have felt or thought. After organising our ideas and looking at the different sentence types (ing sentence starters, like Scrambling across the muddy hills), we completed our independent writing task. Both myself and Mrs Ching were extremely impressed with the quality of their writing, especially the use of powerful adverbs and adjectives!

In Science, we have been looking at branching keys and classifying animals. The class worked in groups and completed this task on sugar paper. They had fun with this and some pupils researched, using laptops, to make up their own branching keys with unusual animals.

This week we have seen a noticeable improvement in the handwriting of every pupil. This is something that the whole school is focusing on, so we are really pleased.
