HaHThis half - term we are learning about Martin Luther King and his changes to the world. Today, its actually Martin Luther King day. We have been working very hard and doing different activities. We are learning about all the racism that happened and what would have happened if Martin Luther King didn't do what he did. We have also watched a movie to understand further information of what happened.
The children were quite shocked at first that such things happened, but know they feel glad because Martin Luther King sorted it out, so we don't have to because of our colour:
Be in different schools,
Have to give up your seat on the bus to a white people
And lots more!!!

5R have currently been learning about the Maya civilisation. We have been debating about buildings, objects, pictures and writing and to see which one was best for information it turns out that we need all of them to get the whole story. We were also answering some questions about what the Mayans built , wrote , drew and built.
For these past two days 5R have been very busy doing the Ancient Maya people in History and MARCH ON! in English
