Working Together

18/5/2017

Our focus this week in PSHE has been 'working together'. We have looked at the benefits of working together and the essential 'ingredients' needed for a team/group to work successfully. After completing some activities on our own, and then as a group, we realised the importance of working together.

Each group planned and created their own 'recipe' for teamwork. After writing their recipe, using imperative verbs and using the characteristics of successful team work, each group created a poster and presented it to the rest of the class.

After the presentations, we discussed how well each group worked and, if there were any problems, what the group did to overcome these.

Investigations

12/5/2017

This week, our class have really enjoyed conducting some investigations.

We have had a practical science lesson, where we have been investigating what happens to the brightness of the bulb in the circuit, when the number of bulbs increases/ decreases. Some of our class could explain (with scientific vocabulary) why the bulbs became dimmer when more bulbs were added to their circuits.

In maths, we have had various investigations and lots of practical activities. We have been learning about lines of symmetry and reflection, and our class are official experts now!

Active week!

3/5/2017

What a week!

On Tuesday, the whole school took part in the Cross Country Fun Run to raise funds for the school. 4C were amazing, with the majority of the children running for the maximum length of time (25 minutes). A special mention to Tianah, who managed eight laps with support from her peers! Can we please remind you to send in the sponsorship money as soon as possible.

To continue the theme of activity, our class participated in a golf activity on Thursday morning. As well as learning golf-related skills, the children also learnt the importance of working together as a team and showing sportsmanship, by applauding and supporting each other. Well done to Vakare, who won the final game and became the 'Queen' of the Hill.

We have already received topic homework from Vakare and Olly, and we look forward to seeing more amazing work as the half-term progresses.

    "Goodbyes are not forever,
    are simply not the end ;
    it simply means
    i'll miss you until we meet again"
