Last Thursday, 4C (along with the rest of year four) had a fun-filled day at Foxburrow Farm. We visited Foxburrow Farm to deepen our knowledge about the rainforest.
At the beginning of the morning, our class took part in a memory test, where we had a competition to see which pair of children could remember the most items that were hung from the trees. These items were made/ grown in the rainforest.
Next, we had lots of fun building shelters in the forest, pretending we were members of the Yanomami tribe. We were all exhausted and had definitely built up an appetite after this.
After lunch, we compared rainforest flowers to flowers we may find here in the U.K, and we looked for minibeasts, using magnifying glasses and a key. Also, our class enjoyed playing a game, where two members of the class were chosen to be the predators within the rainforest, and they had to chase their prey. This managed to keep us warm...for a little while!
We all had a lot to talk about once back in school. A good day had by all!
