We are nearly there already, half term is approaching. Before going on our well deserved break, 5CL are very much looking forward to their school trip to Felixstowe tomorrow. Hopefully the children will have some stones to hide and we will be able to see how far they travel and if they arrive at any other coasts (watch this space). The children tried hard with their designs, but decided keeping things fairly simple was best.
In art the children have finished their block printing designs and they look amazing. They are certainly a creative bunch! In Literacy the children have created a dreaded villain. We had so much fun! Their villain will meet their spy after half term. They are going to analyze the spy's mission this week, as well as complete some descriptive writing. In numeracy, we have been working hard on our written methods of subtraction and addition. We need to remember to read the question carefully if we are working on worded problems and take care with 'carrying' and 'borrowing'.
We hope you have a very fun half term 5CL and come back to us safely ready to learn.
Another exciting week in 5CL. These children are very arty! They have now finished their block printing designs and I must say, they look fantastic, well done! Also while the rest of year 5 are having fun away, we have been completing various art projects, including painting stones to find on Felxistowe beach. Watch this space to see how far they travel! We need to get a camera in our room to take photos.
In Science, the children investigated different types of cream and insulated ice cream. We have now moved onto looking at dissolving. In Geography the children have become reporters, reporting on the events of the tidal surge.
Literacy has taken a creative turn too. We have invented great spy gadgets for Alex Ryder and created our own lair. Our handwriting and new spelling scheme is being enjoyed by all. We are going over formal written methods of addition and subtraction in Numeracy.
Keep up the good work year 5. Go go go!
