Today was e safety day. We read a story called 'Digiducks big decision' which generated lots of discussion about keeping safe online, making sensible decisions and friendships. Please follow the link if you would like to share this story again at home.
Thank you to those of you that have brought in conkers and acorns as requested. We still need lots more for our sensory tray which will be Autumn themed soon. Please keep collecting when you are out and about during half term.
Here are some ideas on how to label your child's clothes, so that their items are not lost. We always seem to have a lot of un-named tops and jumpers left over after PE!
Writing on with a pen, iron on labels, sew on and stamp on labels.
Any questions do ask.
The sounds we are learning this week are r and h. Show and tell on Wednesday is 'favourite books' .
Wow the weeks really are speeding past! Today we enjoyed the sandwiches, we made this morning, during our Secret Garden visit. In phonics we learnt a new phoneme 'u,' which we practised writing and in maths used positional language whilst playing with monkey.
Tapestry (online Learning Journey) is now up and running. Please let us know if you are having any trouble signing up or if you have not received a registration form. Thank you.
Please can all children have a book bag in school everyday. Those children with a blue reading diary and a reading book need to bring these to school everyday. Once you have finished reading at home please could you put the books and diaries straight back in the book bag so they don't get forgotten. On Tuesday afternoons we visit the school library to choose a new book. Please share these library books at home. They need to be in book bags every Tuesday.
As part of our opticians topic we decided to talk about eye colour. We looked carefully at our eyes and then we coloured in a big eye green, blue or brown. We stuck them to the whiteboard to generate lots of discussion. Can your child remember which was the most popular eye colour in panda class? How many more children had brown eyes than green eyes?
Last week we went exploring to the wood area near key stage two. Luckily for us we bumped into Mr Kightley who was busy ringing birds. He showed us a real blackbird and told us all about how he cares for birds and collects information about where they come from. We were very interested and we asked lots of questions. Thank you Mr Kightley!
This week we are learning the sounds ck, e & u. Show and tell on Wednesday is 'something with numbers on'. Our topic this week for people who help us is opticians. If anyone has any old unwanted glasses/sunglasses that they could donate we need them for an activity this week. The other thing we need you to start collecting is conkers and acorns as we use these for various activities in class during the autumn. Thank you for your continued support.
