Swimming lessons are underway and all of the children are participating well and having fun. However, a few are bringing goggles for lessons and have been unable to wear them because they have not had the permission letter signed by a parent. If you want your child to wear goggles for swimming lessons then please collect and complete the required permission form - letters can be obtained from the school office.
Year 3 trip - we had our rescheduled outing to Foxhall Recycling Centre on Wednesday. All of the children from 3D participated well in the arranged activities and most of them came back saying that they had enjoyed the trip and the activities were fun. Their behaviour was excellent and I was very proud of them.
Spelling tests continue on Thursdays - some children are forgetting their spelling books on a regular basis. Please ensure your child brings their spelling book every Thursday in preparation for their spelling test that day.
Just a reminder that the class assembly will be on the afternoon of Friday the 18th of May. The children are looking forward to it and are busy planning the items they want to share with you. We are not going to say too much about our lessons over the next few weeks because we don't want to spoil the sharing opportunity of their assembly so please bear with us.
Have a lovely weekend, see you all next week.
I hope that everyone had a lovely restful break, ready for a new term. I can't believe that there is only 1 term left before the children leave Year 3 behind and make the transition the Year 4.
There have been a few timetable alterations for the Summer Term. Spelling tests will still take place on a Thursday but the new spellings will now come home on a Friday.
PE Lessons will be on a Tuesday morning with a PE coach and swimming lessons on a Friday morning. All children must have appropriate swimming costumes and a swimming hat - no earrings are permitted in the pool so these must be removed beforehand. If you wish your child to wear goggles in the pool they must have a signed form to give to the teacher before the lesson begins. However, if the child is messing around with their goggles during the lesson then the goggles will be removed. Additionally, there will be strict safety rules that the children will be expected to comply with. Anyone refusing to follow the rules will be removed from the pool for the remainder of the lesson. These rules will be discussed with the children prior to their lesson in order for them to understand the importance of the rules to ensure the safety of all children at the pool.
There will be times during the term when the children will have some additional PE lessons working with specialist coaches. Therefore it is important that the children have appropriate PE clothing, including footwear, in school at all times.
Last tem we had the disappointment of having our outing to the recycling centre cancelled due to poor weather conditions. This has now been rescheduled for Wednesday 25th April - fingers crossed that the weather co-operates.
Hopefully we will have a productive and enjoyable term. I will leave you now with a few photographs taken from our fashion day - the children all enjoyed making their outfits from recyclable materials.
We are 4B!
