Well what can I say? 6P have done it again. We've only gone and won the attendance award for the second week in a row. I am so pleased to have such a dedicated class who are really putting in some hard work this term. I have now challenged them all to win a third award next week.
This week has seen us delving deeper into the book 'Rose Blanche', including getting into the minds of some of the characters using freeze frame drama techniques. We already have some budding actors bidding for a part in the end of year production. The children then used their ideas from the freeze frames to plan and produce a longer piece of writing from the point of view of the boy in the story.
In history this week we began to look at the experiences of Anne Frank and how they were recorded in her famous diaries. The children asked some very mature questions about the events that we discussed and next week we plan to produce some writing based on their ideas.
Another good week in 6P.
Well done everyone.
PS. Watch out for the 6P bloggers coming soon...
It was great to receive the attendance award this week with a perfect 100% attendance over the last five days. Hopefully the first of many.
This week we have been looking in depth at the book Rose Blanche. Having made predictions about the story last week, we have now begun to read the story and discover if our predictions were correct. The illustrations in this amazing book have produced some excellent discussions in class.
We also began our Science topic this week by looking at vertebrates and invertebrates in the animal world. The children displayed some excellent understanding and were very interested to discover new ways to classify both flora and fauna.
Well done 6P!
It was great to welcome all the children back from their summer break. Everyone had impressed me (and other members of staff) with their behaviour and attitude to learning. Keep it up!
This week we focused on place value in maths which has gone very well.
In literacy we have begun to look at the book 'Rose Blanche', making predictions about the story based on the front cover and the blurb.
We have also been creating our own 'Classroom Code' (to make sure our classroom runs smoothly) and recording our expectations for our handwriting.
Overall a great first week back.
6P will be keeping you informed of all the exciting things we are doing in class. Keep logging on to read our blogs.
