The oars went click-clack in the hush and the haze,
the vines appeared and made a maze.
At the centre, was a ancient oak tree,
the secret monument was the key.
A delicate crown sat on top, weathered and mossy with age.
Under the tree it was like a cage.
The floating place was far off the highland,
it was called the floating island.

On Thursday when we got back from the Christmas holidays, Year 6 did some art on Henry Moore. We had people who did poses and we drew them in the style of Henry Moore. Then on Friday we started a new topic on Egyptians. We made a timeline in our books and put the different events in order and at the same time we were doing a British timeline. On Monday next week, we are having a visit from an Egyptologist. She is coming to talk to us about Ancient Egypt and we all have some questions to ask her.
