This week we did a piece of writing to do with Refugee Boy. We wrote a letter to the Adjudicator to say why we believe that Alem Kelo should stay in the U.K. We said that he should stay in the U.K because his mother has gone missing and his dad hasn't got a decent place to live. On Thursday we had an art lesson with Mrs Grieg. We made a clay model inspired by Henry Moore. Luca lay on the table and we had to model him without breaking the clay into little pieces. It was really fun. Also on Thursday there was a high wind (storm Doris) and we weren't allowed to go outside. The wind caused lots of branches to fall of and the goal posts to fly across the playground.
Reported By Amelia Herbert
Yesterday was display morning, we each a speech bubble and we all wrote something about a different word out of; Dedicated, Resilient, Ready To Learn, Inquisitive, Independent, Organised, Adaptable, Motivated, reflective, and and we wrote what you need to do to be that thing. We also then wrote that word on a long piece of paper in a font of choice and then coloured it in, in all different colours.
Then, some of us rewrote a poem about Alem's emotions and some of us rewrote our letter from Alem to his Mother.
