On Wednesday year 6 learnt the Maypole dance from LA FILLE MAL GARDEE.
We had to make a simple plait around the pole. Here is a bigger version of a maypole La Fille Mal Gardee, Year 6 went to the Royal Opera House to watch a ballet performance to help us with our music. It was about a young girl who wanted to marry a normal farm boy but her mother wanted her to marry the son of a rich man. All ended happy of course, as she married the normal farm boy.
After the performance we focused on the chicken dance, which was a part of the performance. We had a competition; we put our chicken dances to the test.... Take a look at the music blog for further information. We wrote poems about Anne Frank and other Jewish people.
family crowded in the room like a swarm of piranhas snapping with their sharp canines trying to get the first bite of prey. If i had, committed a crime i would fully understand, but i have done nothing wrong except being my own self. I feel imprisoned here because of this tiny room. I dreamed of a new world before the war but that didn't happen for me. Kairen |
