On Thursday we went to the Royal Opera House for a school trip. We watched a ballet called La Fille Mal Gardee (the badly guarded girl). In music, we have been learning about this ballet, particularly the chicken dance, so it was really cool when we got to see that bit!
On the coach there we were so exited. Unfortunately traffic was bad, so we had to have lunch on the coach. We also had to walk some of the way, but this was exciting, as we got to walk through Covent Garden!
When we got into the theatre we were amazed! It was so impressive with gold and red velvet seats. We were sat in the front row, which was fun because we got to see the orchestra too. The ballet was amazing, during the interval we interviewed Zoe to see what she though about it (sorry she's on the side...):
On the way home, we were super chatty because we had had such a fun day out in London! (we also had biscuits to keep us quiet.)

It has been another great week and a lot has happened such as Bryony Seabrook and Alex Bark being awarded certificates for independence and being ready to learn. We have all been working exceptionally hard on things like in Literacy. We have been working on capital letters and ing ... ed sentences I.E: Staring after the lorry, Rose decided to follow it. Also, we have recently started learning about the amazing life of Anne Frank and the secret annex.
Congratulations to our prefects! We had so many brilliant applications that we had to pick names at random from a hat!
There may be other opportunities to take on a responsibility during the year, so if your name wasn't picked we will be sure to come to you!
What another brilliant week! It doesn't feel as though we've only been back 2 weeks, we've done so much already!
This week we have been continuing to work on growth mind set by practicing and improving our drawing skills. First, we were asked to draw each other in partners. Then, we drew them again after looking more closely at their features, and trying to get the details correct. We then had a gallery viewing, so that we could see the improvements we had all made.
Also today we did our first piece of big writing. It was about an event in Rose Blanche. We challenged ourselves by trying to include tricky sentence structures, such as 'outside (Inside)' sentences.
We've also had a little chat about the year 6 residential trip to Belchamps. It sounds so exciting! Remember there is a parents meeting Thursday 22nd at 3:50!
That's all for now, have a great weekend everybody!

This is Osiris Sobers and Charlie Mccarthy (this week's bloggers). Today was a very good day because we finally got to read the beginning of a book called Rose Blanche in literacy. It's about a girl who is living in Germany during World War II, it's really good so far!
We also read some more of our class book, I know what you did last Wednesday - it's a really good book about solving a crime.
That's all for now, next week there will be different bloggers.
Have a great weekend, bye!
I'm so pleased to be back in school with a new class. We have a big year ahead of us, which will require lots of hard work and determination! There is also a lot to look forward to, such as the residential trip (more info to come) and the end of year production (I'm very excited about this!)
I'm looking forward to a brilliant, positive year. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.
