The children had a very busy morning today... they worked extremely hard in maths solving real-life problems that involved finding and comparing fractions with different denominators. This was then followed by the M & M production of Dick Whittington, which was most entertaining and enjoyed by all (as can be seen in the following pictures!). Thank you to everyone that contributed financially to make this performance possible. Without your contributions, such events would not happen.
Happy New Year to you all and welcome to a new term! Firstly, I would like to thank you for the kind gifts and Christmas wishes that you sent me last term; it was most thoughtful and greatly appreciated.
Time is flying by and we have another exciting term planned for the children, so I have uploaded the Year 5 Spring Term Curriculum Map for you to see, which should update onto the website shortly. Make sure you have a look! The children have returned full of enthusiasm and are excited about the new topics we are going to be studying - in particular our history topic on 'The Maya'. For your information we are planning a 'Maya Day' on Thursday 23rd March, 2017 which you will be invited to. Times and details will be shared nearer the time when everything has been planned.
A reminder to you all that a parent meeting is being held next Wednesday (11.01.17) at 3.45pm in the South Hall about the residential trip to London in June. Hopefully I will see lots of you there.
Firstly thankyou to everyone that attended the children's drama performance at The Ipswich Art Gallery, the children had such a lovely time planning, producing and performing their pieces, so it really enhanced their experience having an appreciative audience to perform to.
I have now received some photographs from the gallery for you to view in the slide show below. Even more pleasingly, we were also featured in The Ipswich Star!
