Firstly, welcome to the Summer Term! It's hard to believe that we are already two thirds through the year!
We have started the term interestingly, when on Friday 21st April, Year 5 were visited by 2 representatives of the Ipswich Buddhist Centre. Swadipa Vasey and his wife, Carumani, spent the afternoon talking to the children and introducing them to this fascinating religion. The children witnessed the setting up of a shrine (with stupa, candles, flowers and incense), listened to the story of how Buddhism began 1,400 years ago and even practised some breathing exercises listening to the bell. This is an exciting topic and we are sure the children will be talking about their learning at home with you over the coming months!
