This week we have been reading more of Rose Blanche. We also acted out a freeze frame from the the book (the picture to the left). A little boy escaped a lorry and was caught - we don't know why he was running away yet...we also wrote a recount of the scene.
We have been learning about rounding decimal numbers. Then played a game with a sheet where we had to get 4 in a row by using a dice to get the number then round it to the nearest tenths. Roll it, round it!
ART creating patterns
In art we have been learning about Gustav Klimt. He used patterns to make collages. His most popular patterns where his golden leaf patterns that where made from real golden leaf.
Hope you enjoyed the blog! Stay tunned for more next week

This week we have been revising our 6x tables, where we have had to say it normally and then backwards. Our six times table is 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 66, 72 - how quickly can you do it? We've also been using this to calculate our 60 and 0.6 times table!
In literacy we started our book - Rose Blanche - which is about a child living in Germany during world war 2. We haven't read all of it yet but we read the first three pages and it is about the soldiers in Germany going to war and how life has changed/stayed the same for Rose. We can't wait to read more next week!
Also, don't forget to practise your spellings!

We've got straight into our work today - already kicking off with some maths then writing a book prediction about Rose Blanche (I think it's about WW2...).
This afternoon we did a time capsule which had a head line of today's papers and a little note to our future selves. We also added a picture of ourselves, our handspan and our height mesuared with string.
We're all so ready for year 6 and have lots to look forward to! It's good to be back...
