We have had a very exciting first day back at school as this afternoon 5S have taken part in a drama workshop with the New Wolsey Theatre. We have been very lucky to be chosen to participate in a project with the theatre which will see your children preparing and performing drama that has been inspired by a photographic exhibition from The Natural History Museum. You can view the photographs at the link below:
We will be inviting you all to a performance in December, which I will advise you of once I have more details.
It's already the end of the first half term and I cannot believe how quickly it has gone! The children have worked so hard and produced some very pleasing work. In literacy they have responded to the story 'Stormbreaker' by writing letters of application to become spies, designed spy gadgets and created the ultimate villain's lair! In numeracy they have continued to learn through Maths Mastery and have concentrated on Place Value, Addition and Subtraction. If they continue working in this positive manner, we are sure to have a very successful year 5!
It was lovely to meet so many of you at Parents' Evening. Thank you for all of your support so far and I hope you have a restful half term.
Your children have worked extremely hard these past 2 weeks, as they have been sitting numerous assessments for literacy and numeracy. They have demonstrated a 'can do' attitude and approached everything positively. I have been most impressed with them. They now deserve a restful weekend!
