This week we have been learning about the evacuation of Dunkirk. What happended, is the Germans, who were our enemy, were winning the Battle of France and forced our troops to retreat to the beach at Dunkirk. They were trapped there for 9 DAYS!!!!!!! But luckily, the prime minister sent ships and fishing boats out to sea to save as many of our troops as possible. It was first said that 48000 men would be safely returned . However, we happened to have rescued 338,226 men.
Today, which is Friday, we had Pudsey day!!!! For Pudsey day all of Year 6 were allowed to have a stall each for KS2 to have a go at. 6Y's stall was 'how many marbles you can get into a bowl' - using a spoon and one hand! However many marbles dropped off the spoon and did not go into the bowl, was taken off your total. Whoever got the most marbles WON! 6P stall was guess the name of the teddy bear. I bet u know what that is!! The winner wins two packets of sweets! 6C was, guess the weight of the cake! Today was really fun!!!!

In PSHE this week, we have been talking about peer pressure. Peer pressure is when somebody tries to make you do something that you don't want to do. As a class we did a social experiment. While Harmony was taking the register to the office, Mr Francis put a problem on the board and told the class to get Harmony to go with them and agree with the wrong answer. When Harmony came back we all said the wrong answer but she was strong willed and went with her instincts (with a little bit of encouragement from somebody). She did not give in to peer pressure-well done Harmony! Would you give in to peer pressure?
On 2.11.17 we all went on an amazing trip to Duxford. There was two groups in our class, one with Mrs Yates and Mrs Hogarth, and the other with Mr Button and Mrs Twitchet.
We saw tons of planes from Spitfires to Blackbirds; they were spectacular. Lots of people loved the guns and basookas they were sick!
After we had lunch, we went to a walkthrough with tanks, soldiers and the home front. I called it the rainforest walkthrough!
Also some of us bought some money for the shop, which was amazing! There were loads of interesting books all about WW2 and some of us even spotted The Diary of Anne Frank. There were also sets of model planes.
We all had a fantastic day
