The link Rushmere Hall Primary school has with its partner school, Times Choice Academy, in Debre Zeit, Ethiopia is now in its six year.
Over the past years, both Mrs. Massey and Ms. Castell have been lucky enough to visit Ethiopia twice and take part in shared learning activities with the children at Times Choice. We have also welcomed 2 Ethiopian headteachers to Rushmere Hall, Mr. Dawit, (now retired) in 2013 and Mr. Zenebe in 20125.
Through our excellent previous fundraising, we have been able to provide our partners with digital cameras to record their work in class as well as interactive CD roms to support the teaching of English and Maths.
Mrs. Massey is currently studying for a British Council award and once she has achieved that, she hopes to apply for a 3rd award allowing more teachers from Rushmere Hall to visit Ethiopia.
There will be a fundraising event taking place after half term - more details will follow nearer the time and Mrs. Massey is hoping to relaunch the 'Link Club' her and Ms Castell ran back in 2012.
