This week 4 of our JRSOs got to go to the annual awards day at Endeavour house where we were awarded a silver award. We even got chosen to ask one of our questions in the council chamber. "My name is Sophie, I am in year 5. I like football, Star Wars and sports. I want to help younger children learn the green cross code. I can help because I have good ideas and I like helping younger children."
"I'm Paige and I'm 10 years old. I wanted to be a junior road safety officer because I worry when people don't watch their children near the road. I also hate it when animals are run over. I like to skip rope and draw, my favourite season is summer."
"Hello, my name is Megan. I am ten years old and at school I am in Year Five. I really like sports especially football and gaelic football. I wanted to become a Junior Road Safety Officer because I don't want cyclists or any other people getting hurt by cars. I really hope we can make the roads a safer place."
"I am Marcy and I am here to keep you safe on the road. I am a Junior Road Safety Officer. I love animals but I don't have any pets."
"Hello, my name is Zack. I'm interested in Pokémon, science, history, sports and much more. I wanted to be a Junior Road Safety Officer because I want to help people out and keep them safe on the roads."
"Hi, my name is Freya and I am here to help keep you and others safe on our school roads. I wanted to do this because I don't want anyone to get hurt and I want to keep you all safe."
""Hi, my name is Brooke and I am a peer mentor. I am nearly 10 years old and I am in Year 5. At home I am now trusted to go to the nearby park and shop as I am trusted to cross the road safely. The reason I wanted to become a peer mentor was because of how you help out with people and their problems. The reason I wanted to become a junior road safety officer is because I am very good at crossing the road and I want to help keep others safe. For example, if someone was running across the road I would ask them to walk and speak to them about crossing the road safely. In the past I have helped others by making sure that people don't park in the wrong places, for example on the yellow zig zag lines. I would like people to understand the danger of crossing the road and make sure they pay attention as we can all get easily distracted by our friends! Hopefully you will see me around the school soon as a Road Safety Officer!"
