Over 50 children performed - for many it was their first time on stage! The audience was treated to a variety of pieces from -
Many thanks to our lovely tutors, Mrs Ingram and Mr Taber, for coming to support their children. Thanks also to our Y6 comperes for the evening - Ella, Bryony, Holly and Lilly.
Here are some of our drummers in rehearsal
As part of year 5's Mayan topic, we listened to Mayan music and analysed some Mayan dances. The children worked in groups to choreograph their own unique dance, based on the idea of movement around a circle. There were some very creative responses to this work.
Dynamics means how loud or quiet the music is played. Year 3 have been learning to use -
"p" for quiet
"f" for loud
< for "crescendo" (this is Italian for gradually getting louder)
> for "diminuendo" (this means gradually getting quieter)
Year 3's theme was a Treasure Island. They made graphic scores for their music, and practised in groups to play their instruments using great control to achieve the dynamic effects.
