Last night we had our annual Christmas concert. 80 children took part, and we were treated to a lovely programme of instrumental pieces, choir performances, signing choir carols, staff readings and ukulele sing-along! It gave a terrific sense of community and belonging.
The children rehearsed throughout the day to experience performing on stage and to practise their entrance. Mr Stock was on hand with his camera to film and put together the opening video, which always creates a buzz of excitement in the hall, and starts the event with a real sparkle. It is always so exciting to see the musical progress the children have made since their last performance, and to watch their self confidence grow through performing in front of an audience. Live performances do not always go to plan, and learning to deal with the unexpected is such a valuable life experience. Many thanks -
Our next concert will be at the end of the Spring term. Due to the huge numbers of children taking music lessons (we are very proud to have over 100!), a concert featuring all of them would be hours long. So we will make sure that instrumental children get the opportunity of performing at least once each school year.
