Next week is refugee week. For Show and Tell on Wednesday please learn to say 'hello' in another language (and know which language it is!)
On Monday we are having our class photograph taken so please come to school looking smart with your best smile!
Next week at school is is ‘Refugee Week’. Various activities will be happening that week throughout the school.
Myself, Mrs Bark, Miss Redgrave, Mrs Humphrey and Mrs Steward are taking on the refugee ration challenge. I have to admit I agreed to it before I saw just how little we get to eat!
We are going to eat the same food as a Syrian refugee for one school week.
The rations for one week are...
60g chick peas
125g tinned sardines
400g tinned kidney beans
210ml vegetable oil
285g of plain flour
And NOTHING else! No caffeine or alcohol (water only)
If you would like to make a donation here is a link to our fundraising page....
Your donation will support local refugees in Suffolk as well as providing critical supplies to refugees in Syria. We are also accepting cash donations.
We really have become spider experts this week! We have learnt so many new and interesting facts.
This week we ordered numbers 1 to 22 to make a giant spider web in the secret garden. We all wore number necklaces and we had to throw the spiders silk to the person with the next number.
We are also very excited for our school trip next week to Easton Farm Park. Don't forget, children to wear school uniform and 'sensible' shoes. Your child will also need;
Packed Lunch with non-fizzy drink
and a rucksack or similar to carry all their items in!
If your child is not allowed to touch the animals please let me know.
Can you believe that it is the children's final half term in reception class? The school year has flown by and the remaining weeks will be just as busy!
We have sports day later this month and next Friday is our school trip to Easton Farm Park. There are a couple of spaces for parent helpers. If you are available on Friday 15th June and you would like to come and look after a small group of children during the day please let me know this week. If lots of parents offer to help I may have to draw names!
Our topic is minibeasts and this week we are learning all about spiders. For show and tell tomorrow please find out a spider fact to share.
