Children with allergies and dietary requirements are automatically included on the registers. The kitchen team are aware of all children with allergies and dietary requirements and prepare those specific dinners separately.
>> EYFS & KS1 Signing In & allergies
When lunch time begins children are lined up in their classes and reminded of their choices.
They are allocated a card which indicates their choice from their class teacher. They are also allocated a card that shows any particularly allergies that they may have. Different allergies are on different coloured cards. Those with multiple allergies with receive a personalised card.
In order for pupils to receive their lunch they must hand their cards to the kitchen staff who will then serve up the pupils choices. Kitchen staff are also familiar with the allergies that children have and so the card merely acts a reminder and a double checking mechanism. Pupils are also trained to be vigilant and allergy aware and so they are also very good at knowing what they can and cannot eat.
