Date: 29th March 2017
Venue: The Royal Hospital School
Time: 9:45 - 12:00 noon
Team:
Year 4 -
Theo, Daniel, Joseph, Jack, Kaci, Megan, Lilly, Leanna
Year 5 - Sidney, Kasper, Leonardo, Callum, Lana, Darcy, Ashley, Faith
Year 6 - Samuel, Ashton, Ben, Alex, Ella, Bryony, Charlotte, Honee.

Another superb event!

The year 4 boys started us off around the 1.5km course, fighting against other schools for the top places. Finishing first out of our Rushmere boys was Theo in 7th place. Not far behind was Daniel followed by Jo and Jack. Then the girls took off with a great run. Crossing the finish line first was Kaci then Lilly, Megan and Leanna. Great work year 4!

The course was then extended for the year 5 and 6's. They had to run 2.2km against other schools.  The year 5 boys went first with Sid's speedy performance finishing in 4th place. Followed by Kasper, Callum and Leonardo. A spectacular run from by Lana in the year 5 girls race. She finished first and didn't even look out of breath! Ashley closely followed by Darcy and Faith. Great race girls!

Team Rushmere kept up the winning streak in the year 6 boys race. Sam came over the line first with a solid run. Followed by Ben, Ashton and Alex. Alex was pulled in at the last minute this morning to race for Team Rushmere. Very adaptable! Thank you Alex!

The year 6 girls waited all morning for their race. They were so excited from cheering the rest of the team on they gave us a great performance. Crossing the line first out of Team Rushmere was Honee-Mae then Charlotte, Bryony and Ella.

The whole team supported each other in all of the races showing that they were very proud to be a part of the team.

There was a professional photographer at the event. Please see the links below for the photos.

Saxon Cup 2017

Date: 22nd March 2016
Venue: Ipswich Sports Club
Time: pm
Team: Ashton, Ben, Joel, Sam, Callum, Hamzah, Zoe, Gemma, Honee-Mae, Lucia, Grace.

What at a successful afternoon!
Team Rushmere had a superb afternoon at Ipswich Sports Club playing in a Squash tournament.
This was the first time some of our team had ever stepped foot onto a squash court but they were not fazed by this. They have had some great coaching by Emily Ison leading up to the event on Tuesdays after school.
The team warmed up by playing each other and getting use to the courts before they faced the other teams. We had some very close matches where we had to go to a tie breaker but also some very confident wins. The atmosphere was electric with the team supporting and cheering every member on, win or loose.
In the two hours the team had at least 6 matches with every child fighting for every point. Zoe even had some energy left to give Mr Stock a game on the courts after the event.

The final results............. the year 6 team WON their league!
The year 5 team came second by a minimal 2 points! Great work team!

Thank you to all the parents who transported their children and a big thank you to Mrs Tanner for staying and supporting Team Rushmere.

Date: 7th March 2017
Time:  10:30-12:30
Venue: Inspire Suffolk
Team: Holly, Maisie, Lola, Bryony, Emily, Carmen, Kacper, Alex, Ben,  Ben and Sam.

After the last Basketball competition the team were ready to play ball with some experience under their belts. There were a few new faces to the team so it took a couple games settle down but the third game both the boys and girls team worked together, moved into space and pushed the ball up the court. Alex started the ball rolling with our first basket leading to our first victory of 17 - 0. Great work team!

A special mention must go to Ben who won one of the Fair Play awards! Well done!

A big thank you to all the parents who transported some of the team to the compeition.

Also a massive thank you goes to Mr Button who coached our team through all of the matches. We couldn't have done it without him.
