Date: 22nd March 2016 Venue: Ipswich Sports Club Time: pm Team: Ashton, Ben, Joel, Sam, Callum, Hamzah, Zoe, Gemma, Honee-Mae, Lucia, Grace. What at a successful afternoon! Team Rushmere had a superb afternoon at Ipswich Sports Club playing in a Squash tournament. This was the first time some of our team had ever stepped foot onto a squash court but they were not fazed by this. They have had some great coaching by Emily Ison leading up to the event on Tuesdays after school. The team warmed up by playing each other and getting use to the courts before they faced the other teams. We had some very close matches where we had to go to a tie breaker but also some very confident wins. The atmosphere was electric with the team supporting and cheering every member on, win or loose. In the two hours the team had at least 6 matches with every child fighting for every point. Zoe even had some energy left to give Mr Stock a game on the courts after the event. The final results............. the year 6 team WON their league! The year 5 team came second by a minimal 2 points! Great work team! Thank you to all the parents who transported their children and a big thank you to Mrs Tanner for staying and supporting Team Rushmere. Date: 15th March 2017
