A massive thank you has to go out to our wonderful staff for leading an excellent residential trip.
Leading and supervising the children during a residential is a HUGE responsibility and a massive job. It goes well beyond the responsibilities of a class teacher. Our staff are always happy to go on the residentials because they want children to have these opportunities and these experiences. We dont pay them extra but they ultimately are working 24 hours a day... These trips are exhausting and full on. I am always proud of the Rushmere staff but moreso in these situations, where they go above and beyond. Today... when you pick up your children from the coach... please can you make sure you thank the staff for looking after the children. They don't need gifts, they don't need a pat on the back... just some acknowledgement and thanks is all that is required. Thank you... Mr Fykin

A busy and exciting day one of the residential trip! Mr Bentley, Miss Bullock and Miss Clarke look way too comfortable dressed as Pirates! Children already achieving things they never thought they could and children already missing home... during the journey to the residential trip!
Tonight will be the next challenge! Who will be able to sleep after munching on strawberry shoelaces and maoams before bedtime? Two of your five-a-day! Fingers crossed everyone is asleep by 1am. Thats not a joke... experience of the trips over the years says that this is being optimistic. More updates tomorrow. |
