![]() Another super Show and Tell, this week the theme was something that can FLY! We had lots of helicopters, rockets, owls, flying unicorns and dragons. Even a paper airplane and a HUGE rocket!! Thanks for bringing in all your lovely items to share. ![]() Today we enjoyed a super visit from the Mini Monsters. We found out lots of facts about the different creatures and really enjoyed meeting them all. Some of us were even brave enough to touch the animals and hold them! What a super morning! This Week
This week we have been learning about Chinese New Year. We have found out all about how and why it is celebrated. We listened to a story about the Chinese zodiac which determines the animal that each year is named after and we learnt that this year it is the Year of the Pig. We explored rice and chopsticks in the investigation tray, we made 'lucky red' money envelopes with chocolate coins inside! We also learnt a Chinese New Year greeting and practised saying it to our friends. In Maths, we have been completing assessments In Literacy we have been writing sentences about Chinese New Year Next Week Next week we will be learning all about 5 Little Ducks as part of our Nursery rhyme topic. We are also very excited to find out all about Minibeasts on Wednesday when the Mini Monster Roadshow comes to visit!! We are looking forward to seeing all the creepy crawlies and learning lots of facts about them and maybe even holding some of them....... Maths Focus - counting back using a number line Literacy Focus - Assessments DON'T FORGET to label all school uniform and any other items brought into school (eg gloves, hats, water bottles). Show & Tell Something that can fly ![]() As part of our Chinese New Year topic, we have been looking at the colour red (a lucky colour in Chinese traditions). For Show & Tell this week, we have brought in all sorts of red items, including a car, a strawberry, an apple, a dinosaur, a bag, a spider, an airplane and a red nose!!
