![]() Nursery re-opens on Tuesday 17th April and our topic will be Space. We look forward to seeing you. If you are having a clear out over Easter and would like to donate any books they would be gratefully received, as some of our library books are getting a little tatty. Please also start collecting paper towel and toilet roll tubes for a craft activity. When your child returns to Nursery please be reminded that we are now getting them ready for Reception. The next step is saying goodbye after hanging up their card and letting them come into the nursery by themselves. This will get them used to leaving you at the door in September. This does not include the new children who will need time to settle in. We are also discouraging children from bringing toys in, unless it is a Show and Tell day. Lots of things are getting lost or left behind and we don't know who they belong to. A busy last week of term with finishing Easter cards, making Easter nests and baskets. Then on Thursday after reading the book We're Going On An Egg Hunt we went out into the Nursery garden and found eggs the Easter Bunny had left us. We found lots of them! Happy Easter everyone!
![]() Last week was the official start of Spring, so we put on our coats and boots and went out around the school grounds to see if we could spot any signs of Spring. We found new life everywhere: leaf buds, crocus, daffodils, blossom, green shoots and even frog's spawn in the wildlife area pond! You can help your child develop an awareness of the passing of time, by spotting the signs of seasonal change when you are out and about. Next week we continue with our Spring/Easter topic, show & tell on Wednesday has a Seasonal focus, bring something in that has a Spring/Easter theme. There is no letter of the week on Friday as the school is closed. PE Kits can go home, but please return them on the first day back. Thank you to all the grown-ups for coming to the Nursery Stay and Play, it was great to have so many of you attend. There was a lovely buzz of activity in the Nursery and the weather was kind! There will be pictures to follow shortly. Next week is the start of our Easter topic which will last till the end of the term. We will be busy with Easter activities as well as our usual active learning. The colour is grey and the sound is 'i.' Next week is the last week of traditional tales. We finish with The Elves and the Shoemaker. We will be comparing and ordering shoes sizes, as well as discussing how kind the Elves were in helping the Shoemaker, we will discuss how we can be kind to others, just like the Elves. On Friday it is Stay and Play when you have a chance to stay and make Spring/Easter crafts with your child. The morning session starts at 9am and finishes at 11.00. The afternoon starts at 12.45 and ends at 2.45pm. Hope you can make it. ![]() Happy Mother's Day |
