Welcome back after the half term break, hope you had a good week.
This next half term is super busy with Diwali, Firework night, stay and play, as well as Christmas fast approaching, so much to celebrate! This week we have been learning about the Hindu festival Diwali. Diwali is the festival of lights and we have been making Diva lamps and learning about how Hindus celebrate this colourful event. Next week we are looking at fireworks, thinking about safety and making firework crafts. The Colour for this week is purple and the letter is n. Next week the colour is white and the letter is p. We will be practising the Christmas play every Friday for 4 weeks, so there will be no PE on Friday until after Christmas.

This week we have read the Little Red Hen book. We discussed how the Little Red Hen felt when none of her friends would help her. The Little Red Hen was kind enough to leave some bread for us so we could make sandwiches. We made sure that our hands were clean first and then independently spread butter on the bread, then chose whether we would like jam or cheese. We all enjoyed eating them for snack! In Nursery we have been learning about Autumn. We have been discussing how our environment is changing. We went to the Secret Garden to look for and collect Autumn leaves. We also painted trees with Autumn colours. |
