This Week
This week we have been learning all about the Gingerbread Man story.  We have been designing our own Gingerbread Men and counting buttons for decorations.  We have also been pretending to make our own Gingerbread men, exploring mixing ingredients and following a recipe. 

In Maths, we have been sorting and ordering numbers and identifying missing numbers in sequence. 

In Literacy we have been story sequencing the Gingerbread Man, the children have also had great fun joining in with the story, "Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man!"

Next Week 
Next week we will be learning all about Christmas.  We will be making decorations and finding out how and why it is celebrated.

Maths Focus - Comparing sets of numbers and using vocabulary MORE & LESS. 
Literacy Focus - We will be practising our phonic sounds as part of our Read, Write Inc. sessions.

This Week
This week we have been continuing to learn all about Birthdays. We have been learning our dates of birth for Show & Tell, we have also leanr ta months of the year song, to help us remember them in order. 

In Maths, we have been practising using our 5 and 10 frames to make number bonds and pairs of numbers and in literacy we have been writing birthday invitations. 

Don't forget Stay & Play afternoon - Friday 23rd November at 2.30pm.  You are invited to join your child in lots of crafts and activities and you'll get the chance to see all the exciting things your child does at school! It would be fantastic to see you there, we hope you can come along and share in the fun!!

This Week
This week we have been learning all about Birthdays. We have been talking about how we celebrate birthdays and about birthday parties.  We have also been designing birthday cards and writing invitations.  In our investigation tray, we have been using cooking items to make pretend cakes, carefully weighing out the ingredients and mixing them in the bowls. 

In Maths, we have been practising 'sharing.'  We use birthday cakes and divided them equally between the toys, putting the same amount of cakes on each plate. 

As part of this week's Show and Tell the children brought in their baby photos and we had a great time trying to guess who was who!!


Don't forget Stay & Play afternoon - Friday 23rd November at 2.30pm.  You are invited to join your child in lots of crafts and activities and you'll get the chance to see all the exciting things your child does at school! This Week
This week we have been learning all about Fireworks, we have made chocolate apples and practised our name writing on colourful rockets.  We also had great fun toasting marshmallows in the Secret Garden!  
In Maths, we have been continuing to practise our number recognition and number formation on some 'countdown' rockets.
As part of this week's Show and Tell the children brought in something that was Shiny! Please check out he Blog post below for photos of all the super items brought in.

As part of our Festivals and Celebrations topic we have been finding out about Bonfire night. We have toasted marshmallows in the Secret Garden, made chocolate apples and practised writing name writing to create some super rockets!

Something Shiny - Show & Tell

Another fantastic Show & Tell this week! The children were asked to bring in something Shiny (as part of our Fireworks topic work). We had lots of sparkly and shiny things including a silver harmonica, a jar, a gold Lego figure, a coin  and a Diwali picture.
Thank you once again for your support with this activity.

This Week
This week we have been learning all about Diwali, we have made our own Diva lamps and looked at colour and pattern as part of the Diwali festival of lights.  
In Maths, we have been number recognition and number formation. We have also been sorting and ordering numbers. 
As part of this week's Show and Tell the children brought in something that was Colourful! Please check out he Blog post below for photos of all the super items brought in.
Don't Forget - Trip forms and money MUST be returned by tomorrow!! many thanks to all those who have already done this, we are looking forward to a super trip.


Next Week 
Next week we will be learning all about Bonfire Night. We will be describing fireworks and talking about Bonfire Night safety.  
We will also be joining the whole school in a Remembrance Day Service next Friday (9th November).
