Merry Christmas!!

Best wishes to you all for a Merry Christmas from all the Penguin Class Teachers.  We have had a super term, the children have all settled in so well and have learnt so many new things already.  They all deserve a well earned Christmas break for all their hard work, well done Penguin Class!

Also, thank you very much for all your kind Christmas gifts and cards and a big thanks for all your support this term.  It has been a fantastic start to the school year. 

We hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a great New Year and we'll see you all when school returns on Thursday 3rd January.

This Week
This week we have been learning lots more about Christmas.  We have been busy making paper chains to decorate our classroom ready for our party next week! 
We have also been continuing to practise our songs for our Christmas production on Friday. The children are super excited for their Christmas Show and we look forward to seeing you there!


In Maths, we have been counting decorations on Christmas trees. 

In Literacy we have been describing a nativity picture using CVC words and simple sentences. 

Next Week 
Next week we will be finishing our Christmas topic.  We are super excited about our class Christmas party on Monday afternoon and also our school trip to the Theatre on Wednesday afternoon.

Literacy Focus - We will be completing some simple literacy assessments

DON'T FORGET
Christmas Play - Friday 14th December 10.45 or 2.30pm - Please come to school wearing your school uniform and a Christmas Jumper!
Class Christmas Party - Monday 17th December - Please bring party clothes in a named bag and don't forget to bring your party food donations too - thank you!
School Trip - Wednesday 19th December 1.30pm - The children will be going to the New Wolsey Studio to see 'The Ballard of Rudy.' Children to wear SCHOOL UNIFORM please. Thank you.

Show & Tell - Something Christmassy!

What a super 'Christmassy' Show & Tell. The children were very excited to share all their festive items including, Christmas stockings, decorations, ornaments, costumes and snowmen.
Thanks once again for all your support and we hope you have a lovely Christmas!

Please note, no Show & Tell next week due to school trip on Wednesday afternoon.

This Week
This week we have been learning all about Christmas.  We have been busy making lots of Christmas decorations, cards and calendars ready to sell at our Christmas Fair on Friday (7th December).  
We have also been talking about how, why and when Christmas is celebrated and practising the songs for our Christmas Production. 


In Maths, we have comparing sets of objects using the maths vocabulary 'More and Less.'

In Literacy we have been completing some simple phonic assessments and practising our letter sounds. 

Next Week 
Next week we will be continuing to learn all about Christmas.  We will be looking at the story of the Nativity and finding out about how Christmas is celebrated around the world.

DON'T FORGET to sign up for our Christmas Play on Friday 14th December, there are two performances 10.45am and 2.30pm, please indicate your preference on the class sign up sheets.  Please note it's a max of 2 guests per child (due to limited hall space).  We look forward to seeing you there!!

For Show & Tell this week we brought in a Christmas decoration.  As you can see we enjoyed looking at a whole range of decorations such as Christmas stockings, baubles, jingle bells, tinsel, snowmen, and even a singing and dancing Christmas tree!
