This week we have been learning about Ordinal Numbers and positional langauge through the poem There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly as part of our Nursery Rhymes topic. We have sorted and ordered the animals from the peom in sequence and used ordinal numbers to label them in the correct positions eg 1st, 2nd, 3rd...
In Maths, we have been using ordinal numbers and positional language
In Literacy we have been sequencing the poem.
Next week we will be continuing our Nursery Rhymes topic and looking at the rhyme Incy Wincy Spider. We will practise learning the rhyme and reciting it. We will also be using our 10 frames to find different ways of making 8. We will also be practising number formation, recording numbers and beginning to talk about and use the language of 'Capacity.'
As part of our topic work we will be making spider webs, by weaving onto paper plates and also creating handprint spiders!
Maths Focus - We will be exploring different ways of making 8
Literacy Focus - We will be sequencing the rhyme and adding labels and captions
DON'T FORGET to label all school uniform and any other items brought into school (eg gloves, hats, water bottles). So if lost, can be returned to their owners!! Many thanks.
