This week we have been learning about Time and the poem Hickory Dickory Dock as part of our Nursery Rhymes topics. We have made our own paper plate clock with movable hands and we have been busy practising telling the time. We have also talked about days of the week, months of the year and 'New Year.'
In Maths, we have been learning to tell the time using o'clock and half past
In Literacy we have been writing thank you letters for our Christmas Presents.
Next week we will be continuing our Nursery Rhymes topic and looking at the rhyme 5 Currant Buns. We will practise learning the rhyme and reciting it. We will also be thinking about subtraction, one less than, taking away and counting back.
As part of our topic work we will also be finding out about money and different coins and counting amounts using 1p's 2p's and 5p's.
We will also be playing rhyming games, matching pairs of rhyming words and listening cards to the letter sounds.
Maths Focus - We will be counting coins in 'piggy banks' to find the totals.
Literacy Focus - We will be finding rhyming pairs and continuing a rhyming string.
DON'T FORGET to label all school uniform and any other items brought into school (eg gloves, hats, water bottles). So if lost, can be returned to their owners!! Many thanks.
