We have been learning to use adjectives in our writing in English.
Can you tell your grown ups at home some adjectives to describe this weather picture?
We are learning to be Weather Experts in Geography this term!
Wow what an excellent start to the year! Mrs Dunne, Mrs Warren and Miss Barnard are all super proud of how the children have started the new term. They are definitely ready for the challenges of the year ahead! We have already made our brains zap and grow with some tricky learning.
On Thursday we had great fun making a collage Yeti. When something is tricky we say "I can't do it YET!" We persevere and keep on trying! We never give up! Are you a Yeti?
It’s hard to believe that we are almost at the end of Year One, it has whizzed by! The children have worked incredibly hard and the progress is amazing. It has been especially rewarding for me to have seen how far they have come over the past two years.
Yesterday they spent the morning with Mrs Dunne in Year Two, she was very impressed with them on commented on their beautiful writing - well done 1I.
All the children came back happy and excited. They will spend another transition morning with their new teacher on Friday.
Our last P.E lesson is on Thursday so all kits can go home after school on Thursday. We are starting to clear the cloakroom out, most children have taken their welly boots home.
I have already sent their reception class books home but most of their other books will be sent home on Monday. Please can all the children bring a strong, named plastic bag to school on Monday for all their books and work.
I will keep their current English and Maths books as they will be passed up to Year Two.
On Friday I will collect in all the children’s reading books and diaries to pass up. Please don’t bring book bags to school please on the final two days.
Reports go home this week.
Our final two days are pirate themed to finish our seaside topic. We are very busy with a breakfast picnic and whole school singing on the final day.
During ‘’refugee week” we found out about a country called Afghanistan and we had a go at making some traditional mandala patterns....
We had lots of fun Making and hiding Easter bunny’s for our friends to find. We had to think of some clues as our hiding places were so good! We also went on a golden egg hunt around the school after the Easter bunny left us some clues.
