This week we have been celebrating European day at Rushmere. Year 2 came dressed in the nations flag colours red and white, ready to learn about Poland. We have been learning about where the country is in the world using maps, we have listened to Polish music and learnt to say 'hello' in polish during the register. We celebrated Poland by completing intricate art work which represented Polish Folkart 'Wycinanki' see our pictures below. In Science we have been learning about different materials and their properties. We had to think about whether objects were made or natural. Then we had to find different ways of sorting them out. We felt like real Scientists investigating and sorting information. Have a look at what we decided. Can you guess how we sorted them?
We have been learning to use adjectives in our writing in English.
Can you tell your grown ups at home some adjectives to describe this weather picture? We are learning to be Weather Experts in Geography this term! Wow what an excellent start to the year! Mrs Dunne, Mrs Warren and Miss Barnard are all super proud of how the children have started the new term. They are definitely ready for the challenges of the year ahead! We have already made our brains zap and grow with some tricky learning.
On Thursday we had great fun making a collage Yeti. When something is tricky we say "I can't do it YET!" We persevere and keep on trying! We never give up! Are you a Yeti? |
