We have been encouraging the children to zip their own coats up but there are a few children who still need help. We are always available to help but do encourage the children to be independent as part of their physical development goals. We have set the children a challenge - anyone that can do their own coat zip up on Monday will be on the superstars!

We have a fun week planned next week. On Wednesday afternoon it is our trip to the Wolsey Studio to watch 'Wow said the Owl'. This means there will be no Show and Tell session.
In maths we are comparing sets of objects and saying which has more/less. Our topic until the end of term is 'Christmas.' We will be very busy practising our singing and look forward to seeing you all on Friday 15th December for our singing concert. Children can come to school in a Christmas themed jumper and hat/headband that day. Thank you to the parents that have sent in socks, it would be greatly appreciated if everyone could bring in a pair in the next two weeks. On the last day of term we are planning to play a fun game where each child will take home of pair of Christmas socks. Please could each parent provide a pair of Christmas themed socks. They need to be the size to fit the children in reception and preferably unisex. Each child will not necessarily take home the pair you provide as it is a funny game that involves swapping so please wrap them in secret! They need to be wrapped in Christmas paper and given in any time before the last week of term. Thank you in advance!
Don't forget tomorrow afternoon is a stay and play session. We have lots of Christmas themed activities planned. Please come to the cloakroom doors, it starts at 2.30pm. It would be great if every child had a adult to support them.
This week we are reading the Stickman story by Julia Donaldson, we all made our own stickmen in the secret garden.
Yesterday we shared all the fantastic homework that the children have brought in. We were very impressed, well done Pandas! We have made a super display of the homework outside our classroom.
We went for a walk around the school yesterday. We had a great time kicking the leaves and playing forest school games.
Today we changed our role play area into a vets. The children were very excited to explore the new area. We could do with some more soft toy animals if you have any to donate. We could also use empty pet food boxes.
A date for the diary!
Friday 24th November - Stay and play, 2.30-3.30pm Parents are invited to come into school for the last hour of the day. This will be an opportunity to work with your child on a number of fun Christmas themed crafts and activities. If parents are busy grandparents would be welcome. 1 adult per child please. it would be fantastic if every child had an adult to share the experience with. Some of our learning takes place outside so please bring a coat! Exciting News!
Next week is Bamboo's birthday! We will be very busy getting prepared to celebrate Bamboo's birthday on Friday. The children will be writing invitations to invite one of their soft toys from home to come and help Bamboo celebrate. For Show and Tell on Wednesday please bring a photo to share of the day you were born. |
