Today was a lovely end to a very busy term. We had lots of fun singing and partying even if we were interrupted by a fire alarm as we were tucking into our party food! The sock game was particularly successful!
I am very proud of the panda class and the progress they have made in their very first term at school. Thank you very much for all the lovely cards and gifts. Please enjoy some quality family time over the school holidays and have a very merry Christmas.

Today we heard all the children read that have reading books and we gave the children 2 books to read during the school holidays, thank you for supporting your child to read at home. Every child is being heard regularly and this has meant that they have made steady progress. If your child has not had a reading book yet please do not worry, most children will be ready to start next term.
We also changed library books today. This means that book bags can stay at home now until after Christmas. We will give the children a plastic bag to bring all their art work etc home in. This week we read the nativity story and wrote some sentences. We had to try hard to remember capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. The children used their phonic knowledge to help them spell. We were so proud of the work and we showed every child's writing on the visualizer to celebrate their progress. Below is a few examples of the super sentences. Well done pandas! We have a busy end to the term in Panda Class. Tomorrow is our singing concert at 2.30pm. Children can come to school dressed in a Christmas themed jumper and hat or headband.
Please sign up for a food donation for our Christmas party on Wednesday if you haven't already done so. There is no Show and Tell next week. If you haven't brought in a pair of socks yet for the party game please could you do so as soon as possible so I know how many I need to buy if we are short. We are doing a lovely craft on Monday or Tuesday and every child will need a clear plastic water bottle (labels removed). If you have any please send them in. On Wednesday the children can wear their Christmas jumper to school again for the party. Wednesday 20th December is the last day of term. The spring term starts on Thursday 4th January. The children have enjoyed spotting Buddy every morning when they get to school. Please come along to the school Christmas fayre this Friday. There is lots to see and do. We are selling the lovely calendars and tree decorations that your children have made. We are also selling lollies and candy canes, biscuits for your pet dogs and playing a game of guess the sweets in the cup to win them.
We were very surprised last Friday to find Buddy the Elf had appeared in our classroom. He brought us an advent calendar. We have had great fun spotting Buddy each morning to see what mischief he has been up to overnight! |
