In our English and Topic lessons, we have been beginning to learn about Southwold. This is to help us feel ready for our school trip on Friday 13th July.
TASK: Can you find out any information about Southwold? Bring in any facts you have learnt to share with the class! This week, we have been learning about place value and how numbers are made up. We are getting really good at identifying the tens and ones in numbers. We used this knowledge to learn about money. We identified all of the different coins we have in our country. We know there is not a 30p piece! Or a 40p piece! We were given a problem to solve....
Mrs Aristidou has 2 coins in her purse. Mrs Garland has 4 coins in her purse. Miss Phillips has 5 coins in her purse. We all have 55p. Is this possible? We found out you can make the same amount with lots of different coins. Here is an example of our work... We just can't seem to stop singing wherever we are! Here is another song which we like. There's quite a lot of words to remember so enjoy practising!! |
